The blog marketing crash course - by Cyrus Jackson in Internet.
Many folks with blogs get discouraged after two weeks or months when their blog fails to draw in thousands of readers. It’s a real shame, because if bloggers followed some simple blog promoting steps, then they’d probably find that there’s a ready audience just dying to read about most subjects. So what can a blogger do to get noticed? Here are some blog selling concepts that should get most blogs getting reasonable traffic in a short space of time. Blog about a gap : The world doesn’t truly need another ‘vanity blog’ about what you had for breakfast. Unless you’re a super-model good looking teen girl who wants to put plenty of photographs on your blog, then you’re doubtless going to have a tough time getting noticed. If you have already got a conceit blog and are asking why you aren’t getting traffic, then you must know that the vainness blog market is absolutely saturated. Consider beginning or changing your blog to another subject an interest or a hobby for instance.

Next, you want to start posting to forums. Put the URL of the blog in your forum signature ( don’t spam forums pronouncing look at my blog ). If you join in the conversation naturally, then folks will get curious and you’ll get one or two more readers.

If the forum you post in is also to do with an analogous subject to your blog then you’ll potentially get repeat readers from it! Attempt to find the hottest forums in the niche you are writing about. To find them, just go over to Google and search for your niche keyword and ‘forum’ and you must get a list. Attempt to find forums with at least about a thousand active members. Make efforts to do track backs and ping backs to other blogs that you have linked to in order that they know about you.

When folk find out that you have spoken about them, they are going to come to see what you announced. So will some of their readers. Talking about preferred stories from popular blogs may get you more than some visitors too. Comment on people’s blogs as much as you can ( without spamming ). Mostly you can put a link back to your own blog and folk do follow these links.

It’s also good to target blogs that talk about the same subject as you, because then you’ll get focused readers who are likely to keep on reading your blog. ( Avoid using comment spam programs as Google can track this and will penalize you ). Most significantly, you want to keep blogging! No-one will return to a blog that’s updated weekly or only often. You want to add more content at least one time every day, particularly in the initial stages of getting your blog spotted. This is exceedingly crucial. Now if you follow these few rules, then you should be well on the way to getting a continuous readership for your blog.
